About Us
Tafakari Institute (TI) was founded in 2020 to champion intersectional research in Africa and beyond. TRI was born out of international collaborative research partnerships between members of academic staff from Pwani University (PU), Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), and European institutions. The institute conducts academic, practice and policy-oriented research inspired by a Community of Inquiry (CoI) model.
